On Sunday, September 2, I had a group from Kinston and Smithfield, NC and we headed to the east side of Cape Lookout to try some bottom fishing. We jumped around to a few spots finding some nice Trigger fish and finally got on a good Grouper spot in 150 feet of water.
The bite lasted about an hour with the crew getting a nice limit of Grouper with the biggest weighing 24 lbs. A 60 lb. Barracude found our spot also and made an easy meal of two of our Groupers on the way up, eating half of each weighing around 15 lbs. each.
It was a nice day on the water, light to no wind and clear water.
